University of California, Santa Cruz
Altura is providing campus wide analytics deployment services to UC Santa Cruz, transitioning the existing SkySpark instance from a small pilot project on disparate energy meters to a fully functioned platform that can provide both high level and deep insight on buildings across the campus and can be serviced by multiple vendors. Altura started by developing standards, specifications, and integration workflows in conjunction with the University to enable all projects moving forward to be ‘analytics enabled’, and then deployed these standards on several buildings.
Phase 1 of projects validated that all standards and workflows were compatible with existing University standard practice on classroom, laboratory, and administrative buildings and provide hands on use of SkySpark to energy and BMS staff. Phase 2 is an on-going project to expand the analytics deployment to further project types (central plant and libraries) and continue to evolve the workflow processes within the Energy Team to successfully shepherd building data into issues, and then to process those issues through a tracking process to drive towards successful and validated resolution.
