Altura is providing RCx and MBCx services for more than 20 facilities on the UCI campus totaling more than 1.2 million SF. Most of these projects are being completed in accordance with the IOU Partnership program. Altura has integrated the SkySpark data analytics platform with the Siemens energy management system, as well as equipment from Aircuity, Phoenix Controls, Melrok energy metering, and KEP Modbus BTU meters. This process has allowed multiple disparate controls and monitoring systems for the lab fume hoods, air quality, HVAC, and energy sub-metering systems to be connected for the first time, supporting enhanced testing, analysis, and system optimization. Additionally, Altura is engaging the building engineering staff in the process and providing targeted training and systems manuals to support optimized on-going operations. This method improves the number of corrective action items which can be handled in-house and minimizes the frequency at which reactive work orders are dispatched.
For facilities in the MBCx program Altura is also providing 12-14 months of MBCx support, plus with an additional 12 months of performance validation support post-implementation. The systems that will be included in the analysis include, HVAC, building exhaust and ventilation, lighting and lighting controls (interior and exterior), building controls and automation, and domestic hot water systems and controls.
