September 17, 2013 – Every September the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) publishes the results of their annual Climate Change Investor Report. This year Altura helped a company in the hospitality sector achieve exemplary disclosure and performance scores, earning placement in the elite Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for the first time.
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent non-profit organization that administers a voluntary reporting process that companies use to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions. Companies are scored on two fronts: the level of detail and comprehensiveness in a disclosure and the level of action taken on climate change evidenced by the company’s CDP response.. Companies that achieve a disclosure score in the top 10% of participating organizations are selected for placement in the CDLI.
As part of our scope, Altura developed a comprehensive GHG inventory calculation tool that enables our client to track, manage, and report on global emissions sources in compliance with the World Resource Institute’s (WRI) Greenhouse Gas Protocols. We also assisted our client with their CDP Investor Survey response and provided recommendations for improving disclosure and performance scores.
