Altura is actively seeking an individual with exceptional software development skills, who enjoys coding, optimization, problem-solving, and teamwork. You’ll build applications using the latest in Front End development technology. Your contributions will drive meaningful energy and environmental performance improvements in the built environment at massive scale.

Scope & Responsibilities

  • Develop Altura Analytics software as a key member of our team
  • Consistently follow our software development life cycle
  • Design, develop and optimize frontend systems across a variety of computationally complex applications
  • Document your code and systems
  • Consult with our sustaining and QA teams to resolve issues
  • Work effectively as a member of a dynamic, empowered, professional team
  • The preferred work location for this position is our Newport, CA headquarters office. Our Oakland, CA office, Seattle, WA office or remote positions will also be considered.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong collaborative skills and demonstrated customer centric attitude
  • Technically oriented critical thinker and problem-solver
  • Experience in analytics software and strong desire to learn new software
  • Experience with large databases
  • Minimum 2 years experience using React JS
  • Extensive JavaScript and ES6 experience
  • Experience with Webpack, babel and other similar frontend tools
  • Experience with CSS and SASS or similar
  • Excellent fundamental understanding of computer science principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software related field
  • Desire to work in a diverse, mission-driven firm with core values of empowerment, teamwork, and optimism

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with Postgresql or similar
  • Experience with PHP
  • Experience in data analysis and manipulating large datasets using query languages
  • Experience or interest in built environment sustainability and working in a mission-driven firm
  • Experience in building/mechanical/electrical engineering or building facilities operations
